We’re looking for our first data analyst to join Feather. This is a unique opportunity to build a team in a fast-growing company. We just started with our data journey, and we need someone to lay out a strong foundation for the future.
Location: Remote in EU, or relocation to Germany

Why apply to Feather?

  • You’ll help us build our data strategy. Our data department is in its infant stage; So, you’ll not only be responsible for making it grow but also shaping it into the best long-term strategy.
  • We’re in the early stage of growing fast. You’ll be joining us when the company is still small (~30 people) and you’ll be able to experience its growth (we’ve more than doubled each year). So, this is a very unique opportunity.
  • You’ll decide where to work from. We are a remote company mostly hiring in Europe. You’ll be able to work anywhere so long that you stay close to the CET timezone.

Your profile

  • Outstanding analytical skills. Deep understanding of SQL for analytics. Experience with a programming language such as Python would be a plus.
  • You know a few things about web analytics, HTML… and you can get your hands dirty on our codebase if needs be.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skill. You know how to create beautiful and insightful data visualization while keeping your audience engaged and entertained when presenting it to them.
  • Experience with a cloud provider such as AWS or GCP is a plus.

What you will be doing?

  • Defining the data strategy at Feather. You’ll help us take our data analytics game to the next level. We currently are using Snowplow analytics together with BigQuery as our data warehouse. You’ll get the opportunity to tell us what’s next.
  • Give the team insights about our data. What’s data without a story behind it? A crucial aspect of your job will be to analyze all our data and come up with compelling stories to tell to our team. This will be a chance to steer the company direction with the power of data.
  • Building up data pipelines. We currently have a lot of data lying in different places (Intercom, Stripe, customer.io…). You’ll need to define a strategy for getting all of this data in our own warehouse in order to analyze it.
  • Supporting various departments with their data needs. You’ll consult and collaborate with the various departments that are in need of your services (primarily marketing and product). Examples include building an effective attribution model, closing the loop between ad spending on various platforms and our conversion rate, getting insight on how to effectively cross-sell other insurance policies.
  • Enable others to be autonomously data-informed. All of our company dashboards are public and we encourage our employees — from customer support to engineering — to write their own queries on MetaBase. You’ll have a key role in pushing this accessibility that effort by empowering your colleagues with training and tooling.
